If you want to become a Kitesurfing instructor then the IKO professional programme is your passport to a rewarding career.
IKO Assistant Instructor
• Be at least 16 years old
• Be certified as an IKO kiteboarder level 3 for at least 6 months
• Have a powerboat license or equivalent skill level if no obligatory license is required in the home country
• Have a valid first aid certificate
IKO Instructor level 1
• Be at least 18 years old
• Kiteboard for more than 6 months and be able to perform a jump, a controlled turn, switch riding, and be able to ride
between other riders
• Have an IKO assistant instructor certification or justify a teaching experience in a water or aerial sport
• Have a valid first aid certificate
• Have a powerboat license or equivalent skill level if no obligatory license is required in the home country
IKO Instructor level 2
• Be an IKO instructor level 1
• Teach 160 hours to minimum 20 students and maximum 30 students
IKO Instructor level 2 senior
• Be an instructor level 2
• Teach + 840 hours (1000 hours in total) and minimum +100 students (120 in total)
IKO Examiner
• Be an instructor level 2 senior and have at least 2 years of teaching experience
• Have taught to students in different locations
• Be fluent in English and preferably another language
• Be at least 25 years old
